Daucus Carota

~ Daucus Carota ~ (Wild Carrot House)

“Daucus Carota” is the binomial name of Wild Carrot, a white, flowering plant commonly found on the fields of Paros. The species also lends its name to our project, a private residence, designed for 3 friends at a plot near Molos, and within the proximity of a Natura 2000 protected environment.

The house is divided into smaller volumes, to better adjust to the natural slope, due to the height restrictions that are in effect in the area. Volumes slide and rotate around a focal point, creating a patio, that houses different activities throughout the day.

Each guestroom, enjoys views towards the beach of Molos, while the division of the building’s mass ensures a much better cooling condition, occurs, through the cool breeze that passes through the shaded outdoor spaces.
